Step (1): First of all, right-click on the desktop and select Personalize option.

Step (2): Next, select “Windows color” option.

Step (3): And then click on “Advanced appearance settings…” link.

Step (4): After the click, Appearance Settings window will appear.

Step (5): To change desktop icon spacing horizontally, select “Icon Spacing (Horizontal)” option from the Item drop-down menu and enter the spacing size.

Step (6): To change desktop icon spacing vertically, select “Icon Spacing (vertical)” option from the Item drop-down menu and enter the spacing size.

Step (7): After changing the desktop icon spacing vertically or horizontally, click on Apply button to apply the changes you made and then click on Ok.

Step (8): That’s it! Now you will see that the shortcut icons available on your desktop have been adjusted according to the changes you made in desktop icon spacing.
